This September we went to Colorado for my cousin’s wedding, and it was my first time in Colorado. On the way out we saw nothing but flat land in Kansas and Nebraska. There was a lot of wildlife once we got to Colorado, such as prairie dogs, mule deer, elk, and antelope. The first mountain we saw was Pikes Peak and it was weird because we were a mile in elevation and it felt like we were still in Iowa. After we saw one mountain there was a lot more after it. We had to go through Colorado Springs, which was busy and we had to go right through the mountains.
When we finally got through that line of mountains it was flat land again. We had to go to a town called Nathrop. We finally got to our lodge where we were staying for the weekend. It was different because it did not have air conditioning and it was hot during the day, but it cooled off during the night. The night we got there we ate at the Lodge and then right beside our lodge they had a hot spring and some hot pools, so I got in the so-called hot spring and it was freezing cold. I got out and went in the hot pool, which was really hot and after a while I got out and went to bed. The next day we got up and went to a ghost town that old miners used to live at and it was fun. That afternoon my cousin got married and we celebrated. That following day we had to head home, which was a 14-hour drive and it felt like forever because we traveled 854 miles in one day. I got back and headed to school the next day.
